As Plato says, Philosophy is a luxury. Indeed and if it is true, I am thriving in that luxury of late. Ah, That dear delight of pondering over obscure phenomena is certainly addictive. Anyhow, I have always wondered how would the ultimate truth look in a mathematical equation. Well, the entire purpose of science is to arrive there finally. Around 1500 B.C, it was sufficient to communicate the truth via an objectively accepted medium called language by the most learned and erudite scholars. Now, the medium seems to be Mathematics.
In any case, truth is simple and elegant. That Truth is One, Complete and Infinite. What is one equation that would display all those qualities. As said in the beginning of Ishopanishad,
Om puranam adah purnam idam purnaat purnam udachyate,
Purnasya purnamaadaaya purnam evaavashishyate.
Literal Meaning:
That is infinite, this is infinite;
From That infinite this infinite comes.
From That infinite, this infinite removed or added;
Infinite remains infinite.
So, The truth is something which retains its qualities as it was after any kind of operation done on it. The result of such an operation also reflects the qualities of operated variables. The question is how many variables are there and what is that operation that yields such a result.
I guess most probably it would look like this
1 * 1 * 1 * 1.....[Infinite] times = 1
Just for laughs!
